Individual Course Description
PADI IE:
PADI Instructor Examination
Days: 2
The PADI Instructor Examination (IE) is scheduled on Saturday and Sunday in Fort Lauderdale. Check the scheduling by contacting Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute.
Immediately following Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute IDC, the IE is a standard, objective evaluation conducted by instructor examiners from PADI headquarters. It has no affiliation with Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute DBA or any other Instructor Development Center. Only PADI headquarters instructor examiners are involved.
Minimum Age: 18 years old
Prerequisite: To qualify for the IE, a candidate must have successful completion of a PADI IDC during the last 12 months; must show proof of at least 100 logged open water scuba dives; and must have a PADI Diving Medical Statement signed by a physician (MD or DO) and dated during the previous 12 months.
Note: Candidates are expected to arrive at the IE with all necessary diving equipment, books and training aids. Scuba tanks will be provided at no extra charge. Weights will also be provided at no charge.
Academic Requirements
Instructor candidates must complete the following exams & perform the following skills:
Classroom
01
Five-part theory exams on Physics, Physiology, Equipment, Skills & Environment and the PADI Recreational Dive Planner (tables & eRDPml versions) – multiple choice, true/false, 12 questions on each topic exam.
02
PADI Systems, Standards & Procedures exam—multiple choice, open book, 50-question exam.
03
Perform and pass one Knowledge Development Prescriptive Teaching Presentation.
Pool
04
Demonstrate a 5-skills circuit as detailed by the examiners.
05
Perform and pass one Confined Water Teaching Presentation.
Open Water
06
Perform an Unconscious Diver at the Surface rescue to demonstration quality.
07
Perform one Open Water Teaching Presentation with 2 skills combined.
