If a student believes his or her academic scores are incorrect, the student may request an evaluation by another staff member. The course director and IDC staff members, however, have the final say regarding students’ scores, because of PADI’s strict standards.
In the unlikely event that a student violates one or more of the actions listed under Conduct, the student is subject to dismissal from the school.
If the student believes he or she has been judged erroneously, the student is entitled to a counseling session with the chief operating officer and the course director. The chief operating officer will have the final say in these matters. Any violations of local, state or federal laws will be reported to the authorities.

Student Records

Student records will be stored in perpetuity. Students will have access to these records upon request.

Course and Program Credits

Credits are defined in terms of individual course completion as part of a total program. One credit is equal to the completion of one course in a program.

A program is a series of PADI-approved, credit-earned courses that leads to the program certification of a student.

Credit for Prior Training

Credit for prior training will be assessed by the Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute Course Director on an individual basis and granted if appropriate. Prior training is defined as successful completion of PADI courses as part of the PADI requirements for completion of a total scuba program and verified by a PADI course director in current teaching status. Credits are defined in terms of individual course completion as part of a total program. One credit is equal to the completion of one course.

A program is a series of PADI-approved, credit-earned courses that leads to the program certification of a student. A course credit is only applied to the successful completion of a course component that is part of a designated PADI program being taught by Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute or as part of another PADI-approved institution with the verification of the Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute Course Director. Courses that are not completed may not be considered as credit toward the completion of a program and may not be continued or transferred to the completion from one institution to another.

Transfer of Credit

Credit for prior training may only be transferred at the discretion of the Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute. Credits are defined in terms of individual course completion as part of a total program. One credit is equal to the completion of one course. A transferred course credit is the successful completion of a course as part of a PADI-approved scuba program that has been verified by the Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute Course Director. It is the student’s responsibility to check to see if prior training credit will be accepted.

Students who complete part of a program at another PADI-accredited institution may complete the remainder of a program at Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute when approved by the Diver’s Paradise Professional Institute Course Director with a prorated program cost that accounts for the approved transfer of credits for completed coursework.
